MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF GREETWELL PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 3 JUNE 2019 IN THE OLD SCHOOL, NETTLEHAM.

38 – 19/20 COUNTY COUNCILLORS REPORT

CC Ian Fleetwood reported the following:-

  • The closing of Hawthorn Road for a period of three weeks commencing 25 June 2019.
  • That the commencement of construction of the roundabout on Fiskerton Road would commence during August 2019.
  • That Hawthorn Road would be stopped up permanently during the autumn of 2019.
  • That the Community Speedwatch in Cherry Willingham was going from strength to strength and that 12,000 vehicles had been checked to date.

b) Bus shelter opposite Mach Restaurant – repairs update – It was noted that LCC Highways had been approached by the LCC Transport Department re the Parish Council carrying out fitting of trellis to the bus shelter. That if no reply received from LCC during the next two weeks that the trellis be fitted - unanimously Resolved.

c) Village Gateways – Nothing further to report.

d) Resurfacing of Westfield Drive footpath – Nothing further to report.

e) Traffic Regulation Order – County Councillor Ian Fleetwood was pursuing this on behalf of the Parish Council.

f) The Chase – compulsory purchase of land – Nothing further to report.

g) Community Speed Watch – The PC insurance company had confirmed that volunteers from outside of Greetwell undertaking community speed watch would be covered by the public liability section of the insurance.

h) Garden Party and Produce Show - 11 August 2019 – The Schedule had been prepared and this would be printed and distributed.

i) To consider attendance by a member at LALC AGM and Conference 15.10.2019 – No interest shown in attendance.

41 – 19/20 THE CHASE PLAY AREA – GRASS CUTTING

A resident had reported on 26.5.2019 that the grass was uncut and that the ruts still not levelled. The Clerk reported that she had spoken to the grass cutting contractor and since that date the grass had been cut twice and assurances given that it would be kept under control. The contractor had requested that the infilling be carried out by another company.

That the Clerk be authorised to organise and instruct the infilling of the ruts - unanimously Resolved.

It had been brought to the Parish Council’s attention that a trampoline, owner not known, had been sited on the Parish Council owned land adjacent to the pumping station. Confirmation had been made by the Parish Council Insurance Company that no liability would be accepted for injury caused to any user of the trampoline.

That a polite notice be attached to the trampoline requesting that the owner remove it within seven days - unanimously Resolved.

b) Complaints Procedure – Reviewed without amendment – unanimously Resolved.

c) Parish Council Risk Assessment – Reviewed without amendment – unanimously Resolved.

  • Mrs C Myers – expenses - £10.25
  • Greenfield Groundskeeping – 2 cuts at The Chase - £85.00

Neighbourhood Plan – Councillors Mrs Sarah Bates provided minutes of the meeting held on 15 May 2019 for all Councillors and a copy of the Flyer to be distributed to all properties in Greetwell.

The Chair suggested change of date of September Parish Council meeting to 9 September 2019 – unanimously Resolved.

A big thanks to all Lincolnshire County Council volunteers: National Volunteers Week, 1-7 June, is a chance to celebrate the fantastic contribution made by those who carry out sterling work for the council in their spare time. Council leader, Cllr Martin Hill has written to our volunteers to personally thank them for their efforts.

Health visiting and children and young people services rated 'Good': The Care Quality Commission (CQC) have rated our health visiting and children and young people nursing services as 'Good' overall, following an inspection at the end of February. Overall, inspectors concluded that services were effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

Consultation on how Lincolnshire deals with flood risk and water management: Lincolnshire County Council is asking residents to have their say on flood risk and water management in Lincolnshire. Working in partnership, the County Council, as the Lead Local Flood Authority, has produced a revised and updated flood risk and water management strategy. The strategy looks at farmland, economic hotspots, businesses and communities across Lincolnshire, in particular the Coastal strip, and talks about what can be done to ensure these are better protected against flooding. It also explores the water resources currently available in Lincolnshire, and discusses whether these are appropriate for housing and economic developments, both now and in the future.

Greater Lincolnshire leaders back British steel: Lincolnshire County Council and North East Lincolnshire Council have joined North Lincolnshire Council in signing up to the UK Steel Charter. The charter is a UK Steel initiative that seeks to promote the use of quality British steel in construction projects.

Roman treasure found by metal detectorists in Lincolnshire: The largest haul of Roman coins from the early 4th Century AD ever found in Britain has been unearthed by two metal detector enthusiasts. The discovery was made near the village of Rauceby in Lincolnshire after the detectorists painstakingly searched the area for years.

Medieval Cooking: Travel back in time and find out how people ate in medieval times at a cooking demonstration with a difference being held at Lincoln Castle on Wednesday 12 June, 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
